1990

C&C Designs

From simple beginnings in a small Barn in North Norfolk, Bill founded his first company C&C Designs.

1992

London Design Show Decorex

C&C Designs were the first cabinet makers to exhibit at the London Design Show Decorex. With a foothold in the London market secured, the company continued to grow, requiring larger premises.

1999

Bill Cleyndert & Company

In 1998 C&C Designs was sold to a private buyer and Bill took a much-needed sabbatical. A year later Bill decided that furniture was what he knew (and was good at) and set his sights on restarting with a small but highly skilled team. A decommissioned (but romantic) American Airbase Chapel was deemed the perfect setting for Bill Cleyndert & Company.

2015

Acquiring Charles Barr Furniture

Due to ever increasing demand and continued skills shortages in furniture making, Bill Cleyndert & Company acquired a long-established furniture maker based on the east coast of Norfolk; Charles Barr Furniture in 2015.

2019

Celebrating 20 years

Celebrating our 20th year in business as Bill Cleyndert & Company

2019

Purchasing our second workshop

In Spring 2019 the company purchased a second workshop in Norwich to support our long-term vision for the protection and growth of design & furniture making skills in Norfolk, alongside our ambitious in-house Apprenticeship Program.

2022

Sustainability: We are PRIME

In our endeavours to become a more sustainable and responsible company, we became members of We are PRIME; an initiative which supports SMEs in our industry with their environmental, social and governance goals.

We are proud to have achieved a starting score of 13!

2024

Celebrating 25 years in business

We celebrated our 25^th anniversary! Starting out in a former RAF chapel, the company has achieved a lot in twenty-five years, growing from a team of six to just over a hundred.
