Project Estimator / Surveyor

We have the exciting opportunity to join our Commercial Team in a new role to the business as we seek an experienced Project Estimator / Project Surveyor with a permanent vacancy on a full-time basis, available at our Fakenham workshop.

Key attributes:
We are looking for a proactive, dynamic, and detail-oriented Estimator / Surveyor, reporting to the Commercial Manager and collaborating closely with the project teams, playing a pivotal role in commercial management of projects. The ideal candidate works well within a team as well as independently, with the ability to adapt effectively to changing project and team needs.

Key responsibilities will include:

Projects:

Managing the variation process, including pricing, publishing, external communication & follow ups.
Become the main commercial contact for our internal team and the client's team on projects.
Management of financial documents, including Valuations & invoicing.
Pricing additional areas on live projects.
Track, publish and log all Site Dayworks sheets.
Maintain and adjust financial documents as requested by Project Team.
Assembling Financial documents and contract information in conjunction with the project estimator.
Attend Project Handovers to gain in-depth knowledge of the project going forward.
Attending first initial Design Meetings to understand the project and build a repour with Client Team.
Assist the Project Managers with any queries regarding scope or budgets.
Develop and foster relationships with key Cabinet Makers to assist in estimating hours.
Accurately tracking and inputting Carpentry, Finishing, Site installation hours and all materials required for the project.

The ideal candidates experience:

3–5 years in a relevant field, ideally within Bespoke Joinery, or construction sectors.
Excellent numeracy skills and IT skills with competencies in Microsoft Word and Excel.
Strong understanding of commercial processes in project-based environments.
Has a practical, logical, and methodical approach to thinking and problem-solving.

Cabinet Maker

We are seeking an experienced Cabinet Maker to join our Norwich workshop and help create exceptional interiors for remarkable spaces on land and sea.

At Bill Cleyndert & Company, our makers bring some of the world’s most remarkable interiors to life, from private residences and heritage buildings to extraordinary spaces on board superyachts. Every piece we create is entirely bespoke, combining master craftsmanship with precision engineering.

Our workshop is equipped with advanced machinery and tooling, but it is the skill, care and ingenuity of our people that define the quality of our work. You will join an established team of Cabinet Makers, Joiners, Veneerers and Finishers who take pride in solving complex challenges and crafting exceptional interiors that endure for generations.

Required Skills & Experience:

Candidates must be able to work on their own initiative from technical drawings, be proficient on machinery with care for their work, possessing an eye for detail and quality. The successful candidate will bring excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach, with a minimum of three years’ experience as a Cabinet Maker, ideally within the bespoke high end sector. A genuine enthusiasm for craftsmanship and a willingness to continue learning and developing are essential.

We offer an excellent package including competitive rates of pay, a structured pay progression pathway, overtime premium, profit sharing, long service additional holiday, company social events and ongoing training and development opportunities.

Core working hours are Monday to Friday, 8am to 4.30pm. A flexitime scheme is available around these core hours, including flexibility on Friday afternoons once established in the role. There may also be occasional opportunities to travel within the UK and internationally to support the installation on site.
